This table is similar to my second table except for a few cosmetic changes (the most obvious being the red cloth, which I really like). I used my router and roundover bit to round the top edges of the chip holder areas. I added a bit more trim to the pedestal. I used a clear satin spray poly on the pedestal rather than using a glossy brush-on poly. I like the look of a flat poly on the pedestal while keeping the octagon ring playing area glossy, plus with the spray poly, it's easier to apply an even coat without having to worry about runs. Three coats of spray poly and the pedestal is well sealed and looks sharp. Finally, I made the overhanging edges around the octagon ring shorter (1 1/2" hangover as opposed to 3").
Here are some pictures of the finished table:

Here is a close-up of the chip area with the rounded top edges. It's a minor improvement, but gives a nice touch to the chip areas. Compared to the old syle here

You can get 9 octagon pieces out of the 3 6' pine boards (3 pieces each). Since you only need 8, you can use the excess board to cut your trim for the pedestal and around the edges of the pedestal base to cover up the edges of the plywood. The alova sude from Joanns only comes in red on the web site, however, if you have a Joanns in the area, the actual stores carry many different colors (like the green and grey used on my other 2 tables). For the cup holders from casinosupply.com, I actually had to order 9 because they have a minimum order of $20 pre-shipping, and 8 cup holders was only $18. The quilt batting I got from Joanns was double folded, so 1 yard actually yields 2 yards when unfolded. The Alova Suede fabric is not like this, so 2 yards are needed.
